Danish and American scientists have recently developed an AI model called “life2vec”, which is similar to the AI chatbot ChatGPT. This model can predict the future based on a person’s existing life experiences, boasting an accuracy rate of up to 78% in predicting a person’s lifespan and how much money they can earn in their lifetime.
According to the Daily Mail report, Danish and American scientists have developed the AI model “life2vec” recently. The scientists trained the machine learning algorithm based on a large amount of Danish data, providing various information about over 6 million real individuals, including income, occupation, place of residence, medical history, and pregnancy history.
These scientists have successfully built the model, which can process simple language and generate predictions about whether a person is likely to die early or how much money they can earn in their lifetime. Just like ChatGPT users can request it to write songs, poems, or essays, scientists can ask life2vec simple questions, such as whether someone will die within 4 years.
The scientists used data from 2008 to 2016 to train this model, claiming that the model accurately predicted the death of individuals who died before 2020 with an accuracy rate of over three-quarters. The research has been published in the journal “Nature Computational Science”.
Not open to the public or businesses
However, Sune Lehmann, the chief researcher of life2vec and a professor of networks and complex systems at the Technical University of Denmark, said that to protect the personal information of the individuals used to train the system, the system will not be made available to the public or businesses. Even if the model is eventually open to the public, it is illegal to make decisions involving individuals based on life2vec according to Danish privacy laws, such as using the AI model to develop insurance plans or make hiring decisions.
It is worth noting that Sune Lehmann pointed out that the relevant data is all from Denmark, so these predictions may not be applicable to people living in other areas. Moreover, most people may not want to know when they will pass away.
