Due to the various interesting aspects of inscription NFTs, choosing an inscription NFT is a more subjective and personal process. Inexperienced individuals need not worry, as this article will teach you how to get started. The following information is derived from a study on the X platform by 0xWizard, organized and written by Block Beats.

Title: “Inscription NFTs: What Are Their Advantages and How to Choose?”

Table of Contents:
1. What are the advantages of inscription NFTs compared to Ethereum NFTs?
2. What are inscription numbers, recursive inscriptions, cursed inscriptions, and rare satoshis?
3. How to choose an inscription NFT?

In recent times, inscription NFTs have undoubtedly been the hottest narrative. So what are the advantages of inscription NFTs? And how should they be chosen? In response to these questions, cryptocurrency researcher 0xWizard has published a “beginner-friendly” educational article on X, which Block Beats has summarized as follows:

Fully On-Chain:
Since all the content of inscription NFTs is engraved on the Bitcoin network, your beloved NFTs will be permanently stored on the most secure chain in the world. This is significantly different from most ETH NFTs, which store their content on IPFS.

Inscription Numbers:
Each inscription NFT is assigned an inscription number according to the order of inscription (starting from 0 and incrementing sequentially). Over time, the current inscription numbers have reached tens of millions, which adds to the enjoyment of collecting and the basis for assessing value.

Typically, it is believed that inscription NFTs with lower inscription numbers have greater collection value, such as the sub10k series (the first ten thousand inscriptions).

Recursive Inscriptions:
Due to the 4M limit imposed by Taproot Segwit on content, the size of inscription content is restricted. To overcome this limitation and introduce greater flexibility, the inscription protocol has designed a self-referential format called “recursive inscriptions.”

This allows for richer and higher-definition presentations within inscriptions. For example, ordibots 3D utilizes recursive inscriptions to achieve AR and high-definition capabilities, and the cost of inscription for each inscription NFT is very low.

Cursed Inscriptions:
Cursed inscriptions were originally protocol bugs, where some inscriptions were not “normally” included in the original sequential series. As a result, these inscriptions, known as “cursed,” were assigned negative numbers.

These protocol bugs have since been fixed, and no further cursed inscription NFTs with negative numbers will be added in the future.

Rare Satoshis:
With inscription NFTs, each one is engraved on a satoshi. To increase the amusement, the inscription protocol defines special satoshis called “rare satoshis,” such as the first satoshi mined in each block. NFTs engraved on these satoshis usually have higher prices because rare satoshis are valued higher than regular satoshis. My profile picture is an inscription of a wizard on a rare satoshi.

Due to the various interesting aspects of inscription NFTs, choosing an inscription NFT is a more subjective and personal process. For example, inscription NFTs with lower inscription numbers have collection value, recursive inscriptions have continuous technological innovation value, cursed inscriptions are similar to error stamps and will no longer be added, and rare satoshis have a value floor (even if the NFT is worthless, the satoshis can still be sold).

It may seem overwhelming, but the essence remains the same amidst constant change. It depends on whose “consensus” is stronger.

In my opinion, there are currently three categories with the strongest consensus:
1. Strong Community:
For example, the Great Wizard and a series of community events and promotions have continuously brought inscription NFTs into the spotlight. Recently, the rapid rise of Foxes is evidence of the power of the community. In the long run, I believe this is the most important aspect. Without a community, attention and traffic will continue to be diluted by new concepts and series.

2. Early Inscription Numbers – First is First:
Within the sub10k series, there are some better series. Currently, the leading series is Small Frogs, which is considered the first 10k series (although there is another series with reputation issues that will not be introduced).

3. Leading Figures in Various Subfields:
This category gathers attention and traffic from those who enjoy these specific subfields. For example, ordibots3d in the category of technological innovation, Big Geese in the category of artists, and ohm in the category of rare satoshis.
