Brantly Millegan, a core member of the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) team, announced yesterday (22nd) that Google Search now supports ENS domain names. Users can enter the domain name and check the corresponding wallet balance.
Last May, Google introduced the feature to query Ethereum wallet balances. Users can quickly check the balance of a specified wallet address by entering it in the Google search bar.

Just yesterday (22nd), Brantly Millegan, a core member of the ENS team, posted on the social platform X, stating that this feature has now been expanded to wallets associated with ENS domain names, and the balance will display the most recent transaction. This significantly improves the user’s search experience, as it is difficult for anyone to remember a string of wallet addresses.

Additionally, in response to some users who reported not getting the expected results, Brantly Millegan also mentioned that using private browsing mode or logging out of Google services while searching can increase the chances of obtaining the corresponding results. Based on tests conducted in the dynamic zone, it seems that search results are more likely to appear in private mode, but it is not guaranteed to be successful every time, indicating ongoing integration efforts.

What is the ENS domain name service?
ENS stands for Ethereum Name Service. It is a decentralized domain name system built on the Ethereum blockchain. It allows us to simplify complex wallet addresses or even web pages into short characters like “XXX.eth”, making it convenient for users to transact and search, greatly enhancing the usability of the Ethereum blockchain.
