On June 26th, the Oracle protocol ORA announced the completion of a $20 million financing round, with investors including Polychain, SevenX Ventures, HF0, and Hashkey Capital, among others.
At the intersection of blockchain and artificial intelligence, ORA is breaking new ground. By combining AI, rich data sources, and scalable computing capabilities, ORA not only overcomes the limitations of smart contracts but also empowers developers with innovation space.
This article extensively introduces ORA’s core technologies and products, including Zero-Knowledge Machine Learning (zkML), Optimistic Machine Learning (opML), and Optimistic Privacy Preserving Artificial Intelligence (opp/ai). Reading this article will provide insights into how ORA is advancing on-chain AI.
ORA is Ethereum’s trustless artificial intelligence, enabling AI and scalable computing on the blockchain.
By providing AI, richer data sources, and scalable computing, ORA breaks the limitations of smart contracts for developers to innovate freely.
ORA’s efforts are trusted by institutions such as Compound, Ethereum Foundation, Uniswap, and Optimism.
ORA makes on-chain artificial intelligence a reality. ORA has contributed a range of front-end research and products to the field of on-chain AI. Products include zkML, opML, and opp/ai.
zkML is an encryption method for on-chain machine learning.
ORA is a pioneer in the zkML field and has invented the world’s first zkML library: Keras2Circom. According to research benchmarks supported by the Ethereum Foundation, Keras2Circom outperforms other zkML frameworks.
Additionally, Keras2Circom is production-ready and has undergone rigorous testing in a rich ecosystem.
opML is an economically efficient machine learning framework that can now achieve on-chain machine learning.
ORA is the inventor and creator of opML, viewed from both academic research and open-source implementation perspectives.
zkML can generate cryptographic proofs for ML computations that are succinct enough for blockchain verification. However, current computational capabilities are not yet efficient or economical enough to generate proofs, especially for large AI models.
In contrast, opML can efficiently bring large models like Grok’s 3.14 billion parameters onto the chain, reducing management costs by over 1,000,000 times.

opp/ai, Optimistic Privacy Preserving Artificial Intelligence, combines zkML for privacy and opML for efficiency.
opp/ai is a hybrid model tailored for on-chain AI.
ORA is the inventor of opp/ai.

ORA’s Onchain AI Oracle (OAO) is a verifiable, decentralized AI oracle.
OAO allows anyone to use on-chain AI reasoning on any blockchain.
OAO uses opML to establish verifiable proofs for ML computations that can be verified on the blockchain. This opens up new possibilities for AI in blockchain.
OAO has been operational on Ethereum and Optimism for some time, generating verifiable AI reasoning.
Last month, ORA’s OAO was deployed on the Ethereum mainnet.
Recently, ORA’s OAO has integrated into the Optimism mainnet.

In the AI era, ORA introduces a new mechanism, IMO (Initial Model Offering).
TL;DR: IMO tokenizes AI models on-chain.
For AI models, IMO provides sustainable funding for open-source AI models.
For ecosystems, IMO helps coordinate value allocation, continuous contributions, and incentive measures.
For token holders, IMO allows anyone to derive value from on-chain AI models through income and reasoning assets (such as ERC-7007).
For more details, read here.
Many open-source AI models face challenges in monetizing their contributions, leading to a lack of incentives for contributors and organizations. Thus, the AI industry is currently dominated by closed-source profit-oriented companies. The key to winning with open-source AI models is to raise more funds and build openly.
With IMO, we can win the battle for open-source AI. IMO promotes sustainable development of open-source AI model ecosystems by fostering long-term benefits, encouraging participation, and funding the open-source AI community. When we have better open-source models than proprietary ones, we win.
IMO tokenizes ownership of open-source AI models and shares profits with token holders.
IMO is permissionless, so anyone and any community can IMO their AI models.
In IMO, there are two core components:
Verifiable on-chain artificial intelligence models.
On-chain revenue sharing.
For Onchain AI, we need to bind tokens to the right AI models and reasoning. ORA is achieving this through ORA OAO mentioned earlier, the world’s first AI Oracle applicable to any AI model.
For on-chain revenue sharing, ORA introduces ERC-7641: Intrinsic RevShare tokens as the basis for IMO, enabling fair revenue sharing. IMO tokens are not AI meme coins but represent shares in AI models. Holders can benefit from income from OAO and reasoning assets (like ERC-7007: Verifiable AI generated content tokens) linked to AI models.
IMO is permissionless, so anyone and any community can IMO their AI models.
IMO tokenizes specific AI models, providing:
Effective fundraising for open-source communities.
Incentives for contributors to continue improving globally accessible models.
Opportunities for token holders to earn income by using on-chain models.
Meaningful IMO requires mechanisms for revenue sharing of Onchain AI and IMO tokens:
Onchain AI can be realized through ORA OAO.
Revenue sources include model usage in ORA OAO and reasoning assets jointly authored by ORA.
Revenue sharing mechanisms are implemented through ERC-7641 authored by ORA.

OpenLM is a repository for executable language modeling (LM), aimed at facilitating research into mid-sized LMs.
OpenLM is open, high-performance, decentralized AI, not funded and supervised by large tech oligarchs.
OpenLM is an open-source model under the MIT license developed by a decentralized team. Their contributions will be recognized through this donation, which will also help motivate and promote the development of accessible open-source LMs.
On April 10th, we released the world’s first IMO for OpenLM: OpenLM IMO.
OpenLM IMO tokenizes OpenLM’s open-source models.
Just as Prometheus stole fire for civilization, ORA’s first OpenLM IMO demonstrates the benefits of IMO to the open-source AI community.
$OLM is not ORA’s token. It tokenizes OpenLM models on Ethereum, shared ownership by OpenLM contributors and the community. Nevertheless, ORA’s on-chain AI oracle can realize tokenization of AI models.
IMO will be the cornerstone of OpenLM’s journey, providing funding and incentives to nurture sustainable ecosystems, democratize access, and promote continuous development.
IMO for OpenLM is expected to profoundly change the landscape of LLM using the power of open-source software and communities.
Read more about OpenLM IMO here.
The global debut IMO of OpenLM IMO was a tremendous success.
All 500 million tokens were sold at a price of 150 ETH (approximately $500,000) within 5 minutes. This proves high demand in low supply situations. $OLM continues to trade on Uniswap’s decentralized exchange.
Unfortunately, due to overwhelming demand over limited supply, the vast majority of transactions attempted to purchase $OLM at the start of the sale were unsuccessful.
This is the first IMO, with more to come in the future. Future IMOs will have different parameters to involve more valuable people and wallets.
The goal of IMO is to nurture open-source communities and strengthen ecosystems. OpenLM IMO provides more resources to the open-source community of OpenLM.
This is a flagship demonstration of IMO technology. This is the beginning of a more sustainable, competitive, and open-source AI future.
Below is the roadmap to successful implementation of OpenLM IMO.
1. OAO Integration
To realize revenue sharing for $OLM, ORA integrates OpenLM AI models into the Onchain AI Oracle. This way, each interaction between users and OpenLM models generates on-chain income tracked by OAO.
2. OpenLM Ecosystem Extension Kit
For AI models, IMO provides sustainable funding for open-source AI models. Through the efforts of OpenLM IMO, various projects can contribute to the income pool for $
