According to a report by Coindesk, the Swiss headquarters of the Ethereum Foundation is currently under investigation by a “national agency,” and the relevant records have been logged in the Github database. However, the investigation reasons and objectives remain unclear as a confidentiality agreement has been signed. The Ethereum Foundation has not yet responded to this matter.
Eleanor Terrett, a business reporter at Fosun, expressed concern about this issue on Twitter, but promptly deleted the post within a minute.
The general speculation in the market is that the U.S. SEC is conducting the investigation in relation to the review of the ETH spot ETF.
The price of Ethereum (ETH) has experienced a 1.3% pullback in the past 24 hours. The news caused a temporary consolidation, and it is currently trading at $3321.
