Sun Yuchen, the founder of Tron, recently initiated a discussion on X about whether “Coconut Chicken” meme coin should be launched on the Tron blockchain. This has sparked a heated debate in the community, with the majority of voters currently supporting the idea.
Earlier today, Sun Yuchen launched a poll on X to discuss the deployment of “Coconut Chicken” (CCC) meme token on the Tron blockchain. So far, 7,945 people have participated in the vote, with 66.4% in favor and 33.6% opposing.
Just an hour before initiating the vote, Sun Yuchen posted a coconut chicken emoji, leading to speculation in the community about the possible release of a whitepaper or meme coin.
As early as May 11th, Sun Yuchen expressed his support for meme coins and promising projects on X. He pledged to donate all profits from these investments to charity. He also emphasized that these meme coin investments do not constitute financial advice, as the transactions are public and the on-chain addresses are traceable. He also mentioned that these investments do not guarantee listing on any exchange, including Huobi and Poloniex, which he owns.
Now, with his own meme coin vote, if the token is indeed issued after the vote passes, it raises questions about whether this new meme coin will be listed on his own exchange. Sun Yuchen has also expressed his support for the development of the Tron meme ecosystem and stated that the internet is reliable and cannot be paralyzed, which has further boosted the enthusiasm for the Tron ecosystem.
