Conclusion
Despite the recent downturn in the market, the anticipation and enthusiasm for “Runes” remains high. As a dedicated player in the NFT field, I have had two profound experiences in the past week. First, Bitcoin NFTs are currently the only place in the NFT market that attracts both domestic and international attention without engaging in “PvP” activities. Other chains that still have some heat, such as Base, mainly cater to the English-speaking community and focus on art projects, making them much more challenging to participate in compared to Bitcoin.

Secondly, the “Runes” project has become the mainstream in the Bitcoin NFT market. Although the “Wizard” meme regained market attention and the “Puppet Monkey” Bitcoin Puppets gained strong relevance, the recent explosion of the “Puppet Monkey” project can be attributed to “Runes”.
I recently compiled a list of “Runes” projects for everyone. One month has passed, and “Runes” has not only become the absolute mainstream in the Bitcoin NFT market, but the projects that have gained popularity in the “Runes” realm have also undergone some changes. Now, projects that offer more than just “mining” (NFT itself being a “mining machine”) are more attractive. Projects with attention, community, or “Runes infrastructure” narratives (such as Launchpad, DEX, browsers, etc.) can stand out. After all, after the final token issuance, the competition is no longer about “mining tricks,” but rather about real consensus or narrative competition.
Well-known “Runes” projects have already reached high positions, such as Runestone, Rune Pups, and RSIC. Here, I will summarize some recent noteworthy developments in the Ordinals new projects.
OG project CyberKongz, which pioneered the NFT staking mining gameplay on ETH, has entered the Bitcoin NFT ecosystem. This project was once a T0-level blue-chip project, with a floor price of nearly 200 ETH at its peak, and its token $BANANA reached a historical high of $105, with a peak market value of nearly 90 million USD.
Prometheans is CyberKongz’s official “Runes” project. Although the ultimate goal is to achieve “Runes” tokens, this is the most dedicated “Runes” project in terms of “artistic design” that I have seen so far. CyberKongz seriously introduced the art design behind this project on their official Twitter account, and it can be said that they have made a “mining machine” using the standards of “collectibles”…
This project will be released this week, with a Free Mint and a total supply of 21,000. 85% will be allocated to Ordinals ecological cooperative projects selected by CyberKongz, and 15% will be allocated to CyberKongz holders.
Rosentica is an anime NFT project founded on ETH by artists @rmflawha12 and @TabinekoKIKI. Following the trend of “Runes,” Rosentica is also coming to the Bitcoin NFT ecosystem to launch the “Starlight Runes” project.
This project will have a Free Mint, with a total supply of 2,000. Most will be allocated to Rosentica NFT holders, and the remaining portion will be distributed to their selected Ordinals community.
First, it should be mentioned that this project will have its own token $CLTR, but it is uncertain whether this token will be a “rune”.
I actually started paying attention to this project at the end of September last year. Now, after six months, the halving and “Runes” are coming, and this project has finally been unveiled.
Artist @Degen_Alfie has proven himself on ETH, for example, the artwork “Degen Alphabet” sold for 69.420 ETH on SuperRare in October 2022.
Everyday Satoshis is a pixel art series created to commemorate the halving of Bitcoin. It has a total supply of 5,586. From the genesis block of Bitcoin to the upcoming fourth halving, 15 years and 5,586 days. Each pixel block displays a data showing the date and the daily high price of Bitcoin against the US dollar from the genesis block to the fourth halving.
@Degen_Alfie revealed that shortly after the launch of Everyday Satoshis, his team’s blockchain art market will also go live with the V1 version. The team currently has 12 members, and he raised a round of small angel investments in January this year. So this is not only a great commemorative Bitcoin NFT art series for the halving, but also has a taste of a new blockchain art market’s genesis series.
Opal Protocol benefits given to Runestone holders. If you hold Runestone, don’t forget to like and retweet this tweet and leave your bc1p address holding Runestone.
To be honest, I don’t really understand what Opal Protocol is doing… but one thing I understand is that what they are doing will be driven by their token $BLIF, and $BLIF will be a Token that combines ETH, BRC-20, and Runes. From a degen perspective, Opal has a strong background, with Animoca Brands and Darewise as the founders of this project. Darewise is a subsidiary of Animoca, and they have a game called “Life Beyond” that announced last year that they would move to the Bitcoin ecosystem and have also released a series called “Sparks,” which is a high-profile social club ticket.
OCM (OnChainMonkey) released their own token $KARMA on the Tap protocol earlier this year, and now they are continuing to get involved with “Runes,” with further details yet to be disclosed.
@RuneX_Tech created a web game using Unreal Engine, where players can “pre-mine” their “Runes” tokens by playing the game. I can’t help but marvel at the competition for attention among infrastructure projects; the activities they come up with are truly unique…
After the game went live yesterday, the servers were overcrowded, and the reopening time will depend on the project’s notification. Everyone can pay attention to it.
In addition, in the competition among infrastructure projects to attract attention in the “Runes” realm, I believe RuneX and Runes Terminal, which just released the Ape Odyssey series, are currently performing the best.
@gamestarter is developing a P2E game for Bitcoin through their game studio GGXYZ Studio, but there are currently no further details.
Recently, there have been too many new Bitcoin NFT projects launched every day, and many of my friends are in the rhythm of at least three a day. It is indeed more likely to win in the rush of new projects, but everyone should not be too FOMO and should maintain a cautious attitude in selecting projects.
Regarding “Runes” projects, I believe we can expect to see more ETH and even other chain NFT projects enter the Bitcoin ecosystem, as “Runes” is currently one of the hottest narratives in the entire crypto industry. When selecting “Runes” projects, the core is still to investigate the influence and community quality of the project itself. Relying solely on fancy mining gameplay is becoming difficult for a project to stand out.
When facing multiple projects being minted in a single day, you may need to split your UTXOs more reasonably because the confirmation time for two Bitcoin blocks is long and unstable. Network congestion can affect your mood and even cause you to miss the minting time for some projects.
Finally, I wish everyone a fruitful Rune Season, and I will do my best to update you on the new projects worth paying attention to.
