Taiwanese renowned Youtuber “Joeman” successfully freed himself from the trap of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) stocks during the Year of the Dragon market. On the 15th, he revealed that he did not sell any of his TSMC stocks or cryptocurrencies, despite still being trapped in the current cryptocurrency market. He expressed his strong belief in cryptocurrencies.
Joeman, who has over 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube, became one of the small shareholders who benefited from the bullish market of TSMC this week. On the 15th, the stock price of TSMC reached a historical high of 709 NTD during trading hours, closing at 697 NTD.
According to reports from ETtoday and China Times, Joeman jokingly referred to himself as a “super leek” two years ago. He entered the TSMC market with an average cost of 600 NTD but got trapped. The amount he lost was equivalent to almost the price of a Lamborghini. On the 15th, he excitedly announced his successful escape from the trap on his Instagram story, stating that he did not sell any of his 2330 TSMC stocks and that miracles happen when one doesn’t sell.
When asked by netizens whether he will buy more TSMC stocks or sell them, Joeman replied that he currently hasn’t sold any of his TSMC stocks and he might buy some more if the market stabilizes on the 16th. However, he emphasized that his statement was only for reference and not investment advice. He advised everyone to make their own decisions when it comes to buying and selling stocks.
In response to another question regarding whether he still holds Bitcoin (BTC) after its significant rise in 2024, Joeman revealed that he did not sell any of his cryptocurrencies.
In the 2021 bull market, Joeman released a documentary called “Taiwan Mining Chronicles” where he disclosed that he invested around 3 million NTD in mining machines, earning at least one Bitcoin (worth over $60,000 at the time, equivalent to 1.68 million NTD) through mining, but he also experienced an instant loss of $5,000, witnessing the high volatility of cryptocurrencies.
When asked if his income decreased after the marijuana incident, Joeman explained that February is usually a slow season for self-media, but he managed to get by thanks to TSMC. On the same day, he released a video showing that he purchased a townhouse in Tokyo for 15 million NTD, demonstrating his financial capability as a Taiwanese internet celebrity.
