(Background information: The U.S. Department of Justice dropped six additional charges against SBF (bribery, bank fraud, etc.) and will directly sentence him in March next year.)
Prominent U.S. media personality Tiffany Fong recently released an exclusive photo that includes the founder of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), supposedly taken on the eve of last year’s Christmas. Through an interview with G Lock, a former Blood gang member and SBF’s inmate, Fong revealed SBF’s prison life in the Brooklyn prison in New York.
Inmates revealed: He doesn’t even shower!
According to G Lock’s description, these photos were taken on December 17, 2023, as prisoners are only allowed to take photos on specific holidays like Christmas. SBF can be seen standing with other inmates in the photo, clearly not adapting well to prison life, visibly thinner. The inmate added that SBF was not originally in the photo, but he saw himself and said, “Oh! I’m not in the photo,” so he was added.
G Lock mentioned that SBF used to be someone who always kept his beard clean-shaven, but now he has chosen to grow a beard. This change represents a shift in his coping mechanism. Meanwhile, SBF’s weight has significantly decreased, transforming from a healthy physique to a frail appearance.
On the other hand, G Lock also mentioned that SBF not only doesn’t shower in prison but also doesn’t do anything else, seemingly losing motivation and soul in life. This state reflects the drastic psychological and physical changes he has undergone after facing seven criminal charges.
Inmate initiates “Free SBF” movement
Regarding SBF’s behavior of not showering, Tiffany Fong expressed skepticism, wondering if it’s because SBF is afraid of being sexually assaulted by other inmates. G Lock responded with a laugh, saying that the situations from the 90s and early 2000s are unlikely to happen in today’s prisons, and SBF has not been subjected to any beatings or violence. This seems to indicate that SBF’s choice is likely to maintain a low profile in prison and avoid attracting too much attention.
Furthermore, this inmate, G Lock, seems to be very fond of SBF. He believes that SBF hasn’t engaged in any snitching and is more like a gang member than rapper Takashi69. He even called on U.S. President Biden to release SBF, initiating the “Free Sam Bankman” movement.
