Bitcoin Layer2 solution Merlin Chain recently held a staking and airdrop activity in early February, with a staking amount exceeding $3.2 billion. Its founder, Jeff, claimed that this would be the largest Layer2 airdrop. Today (17th), the official X account of Merlin Chain tweeted that the airdrop points page is now open for inquiry.
Today, the official X account of Merlin Chain also tweeted that users who have staked can now go to the airdrop page to check their airdrop points and can raise questions about the points to the official within 24 hours.
According to official documents, this airdrop activity started on February 7th and will end on April 14th. The quantity of tokens to be airdropped accounts for 20% of the total supply. The following are the rules for point distribution:
A snapshot of users’ staked assets will be taken every hour, and the total value of the staked assets will be converted into the amount of Bitcoin at the daily average price. Users will receive (that amount * 10,000) points the next day.
The quantity of $MERL that users can finally obtain = (user’s individual points / total points of all users) x total reward of $MERL.
In addition, staked assets include BTC, ETH, USDT, and USDC, as well as multiple BRC-20, BRC-420, and Ordinals tokens in the list of eligible assets.
Although the website currently does not show the quantity of tokens available for claiming, it can be inferred that tokens can be claimed soon, as exchanges such as OKX and HashKey have announced that trading will officially begin at 6:00 PM (UTC+8) on April 19th.
