Founder and CEO of Morgan Creek Capital, Mark Yusko, recently made bold predictions on the future price of Bitcoin on CNBC’s “Fast Money” program, saying that he believes Bitcoin will exceed $150,000 this year.
With the recent rise in the price of Bitcoin to the $70,000 range, Yusko stated that investors should have at least 1% to 3% of their asset allocation in Bitcoin. He believes that Bitcoin is the “king” and the dominant token in the market, and is a better form of asset than gold.
Potential for Tenfold Growth
During the interview, Yusko further predicted, considering the “law of large numbers,” which means looking at the development of Bitcoin from historical perspectives, he believes that Bitcoin could easily achieve tenfold growth in the next ten years. He sees the Bitcoin spot ETF, a product launched in January this year, as one of the critical factors driving the current cryptocurrency rally.
In past Bitcoin halving cycles, there has often been a significant retracement followed by a surge. With less than 20 days left until Bitcoin’s halving, Yusko expects that the halving event will result in a shortage of supply, further strengthening significant support for the price of BTC.
Following the halving event, Yusko also pointed out that the market capitalization and price of Bitcoin will show an accelerating pattern of growth. This upward trend will not only continue for a period but will also gradually accelerate over time.
